Monthly Meeting for Team Members

This Meeting held on 5th January 2014 at ADECOM Network. This program conducted by ADECOM Network jointly with Kootu-k-Kural. Meeting held for all staffs from Village Training Centre (VTC), Kootukkural, and ADECOM.

The meetings objectives are:

  • Team’s development, equally individual and team planning and reporting can help recognize both strengths and weaknesses within the team.
  • To involve all staff in the decision making process.
  • To solve the communication problem between staffs and management.

Meeting minutes written the topics discussed, the critical decisions made, and the everyday jobs expert in the meeting. In the meeting Mr. Perumal provided a structured format of the ADECOM management. He explained the importance of communication between each and every team members and with management. He spoke about salary increment for VTC and field office. And from the month of January 2014 salary of Rs: 500 increased for VTC staff only. He said every roles and responsibilities must be followed in office. Staffs must gather more knowledge and satisfy the management then they can hike their salary. Every staffs discussed about their previous program performance and next month programs. Nearly 18 members were participated in this meeting.

SEMINAR on Women Rights for Collage Student

Objectives:

  • To educate and mobilize the youth in addressing the issue of violence against women.
  • To organize the theater play for youth to understand about the women issues and domestic violence and other forms of violence for girls.
  • To create new platform for girls to express their ideas for a particular cause of women development.

 

World Human Rights day event held at Mother Theresa Post Graduate Health And Science Institute on 10th December 2013. The event jointly organized by the Institute along with ADECOM Network and Maitri National Women Network. The event started with inauguration session.  Welcome address rendered by Ms. Pramila, Nursing college officer and she  delivered the importance of VAW campaign importance for the college girls.SAM_0658

Ms. Lalidamballe gave the objectives of the campaign and talked about the CEDAW agreement signed by India for the development of women.  She focused the VAW campaign is important for young girls for their life security.  India is the fourth place to face the VAW and domestic violence happened seriously for various factors especially for culture, caste and religious practices of women.

In that occasion Hon. P. Rajavelu Social Welfare Minister Presided over the seminar. Minister informed that Government has been allocated more funds to women development. The education is important for girls to come over their issues to take their own decision in future.  Women must change the situation prolonged in the name of dowry, oppressions, and domestic violence.  He released the book on VAW to protect them legally for guidelines compiled and made by Advocate S.Perumal.  The book was circulated to everyone and benefited the details of the booklets.

Women and Child Development Department Puducherry the Director MS. Meena kumari addressed the felicitation that ADECOM is doing remarkable actions for the development of women in rural areas.  They applied for service provider to get the legal position and the department also considered their request on legal authorization for the benefits of victims. .

Dean Dr.Murali Mother Theresa Post Graduate Health and Science Institute explained the strategies that women to come over the violence situation.  He talked about the women still practicing the caste, religious identity for their daughters, sons marriage, to change such kind of situation for the respect of women in the society. Ms.Revathi Parkunam Chairperson, Central Advisory Board Pondicherry gave the felizilation note and esteemed the women to deepen their knowledge to protect from violence and other tanagers situation.SAM_0662

The special speakers Ms.Amutha, Welfare Officer from Women and Child development, Mr. Ilanchezian, Advocate from Legal Authority, Protection officers Mr. Sountharajan, Ms. Stella, Sub-Inspector Ms. Priya , Dr. Tamizhvnan, AIR Compire Ms. Uma Mohan, Protection officer Ms. Muthamiz Sheela from Villupuram district, Nation Awardee Ms. Thilagathi were deleivered their speeches to protect young girls and women from violence situation.

Results:

  • The participants were AAPPI women Leaders 80 Members, Anganwadi workers 50 Members, and Nursing students 150.
  • Women and young girls benefited the information and they reflected their views for women must to come in decision making process.
  • Women understood about the importance of self respect marriages for the young girls to prevent dowry deaths.
  • Women were understood the importance of VAW campaign and all the citizens must take the responsibility to make gender equality at the young age group.
  • College girls were aware about the legal guidelines in the booklet and they showed interest to inform the friends and families to contact the offices when they face the issues..
  • ADECOM got the overall appreciation from all Govt. officials, lawyers and Social activists to develop the role of legal authorization of service provider.

GENDER EQUALITY AND CHILDREN’S RIGHTS DRAWING FESTIVAL

Objectives:

  • To educate and mobilize the adolescent in addressing the issue of violence against women and girl children.
  • To organize the drawing festival for girls and boys to encourage them in the campaign
  • To create new platform for adolescents to express their ideas on violence against girls and the family issues.
  • Girls and boys have the opportunity to aware about the campaign and they realized about the importance of the girl child participation and their higher studies.

This programme held on 07.12.2013 at Kanachipuram district at Patchayappa Hr. Sec. School. This seminar organized by Children Watch, ADECOM Network, Maitri National women Network.  Welcome address provided by Nerkalam Pengal kutamaippu Ms. M. Suganthi. Programme presided by Children’s Watch Kanjipuram, Director Ms.Raj, and Commissioner of Kanchipuram district the special invitee by Ms.Vimala.SAM_0597

Drawing specialist and social activist Mr. Sathyan coordinated with the girls and boys for their motivation to draw the paintings. He talked about the children issues for the understanding of adolescent age groups understanding.  He intervened with them to explain about the drawing to create by the girls and boys. After two hours of time all the girls and boys were displayed their pictures in the wall for public and reporters view.

At the end of the painting event Ms. Lalidamballe appreciated all the girls and boys for their special contributions of painting depicted about the children’s issues. The place of that district is affected for child workers and girl child issues are going on crucially.  Many children’s paintingsSAM_0585

were portrayed about those issues.   The commissioner of Kanchipuram district appreciated the event organizers and praised the adolescent girls and boys for their paintings.  She distributed prizes and certificates to all the participants along with Ms. P.Lalidamballe and Mr. Raj.

Patchayappan higher sec school Principal Mr. Ramanathan felicitated the event.  AIMS (Ambedkar international mission) organization Leader Mr. P. Kanthasami, Mr. N. Veramani, Kanjipuram Thiyagi primary school principal Ms. R. Jayalaskmi, Nerkalm pengal kutamaipu Member Ms. N. Yasotha were enjoyed the drawing festival and they motivated the adolescent girls and boys for their confidence to draw the paintings.

RESULTS:

 

  • This event explained about the Gender Equality and children’s Rights. This drawing festival very useful for girls and boys totally 60 students.
  • The participants were enjoyed and showed happy moments to portrayed their pictures for everyone.  
  • Drawing festival motivated the girls and boys paintings and assured to make booklet for their paintings.  
  • All the participants were got prizes and certificates and equally appreciated for everyone’s contributions of their paintings.

Dr. Ambedkar memorial day

Objectives:

  • To remember about Dr. Ambedkar and his thought to aware by the women leaders and youths.
  • To respect Dr. Ambedkar’s statue near in legislative assembly and motivate the women leaders for their political awareness.
  • To raise the voices of women and circulate notices to the public and political parties to aware about equal participation of women in Politics.

Dr.Ambedkar’s Remembrance Day was held at Dr.Ambedkar statue near in Legislative Assembly and Memorial house in Pondicherry Beach. .This programme conducted by ADE COM Network, Maitri National Women Network, Kootukkural team members and Annal Ambedkar Pengal Paguthariou Iyakkam (AAPPI) Pondicherry. 30 women and youths participated in this programme.

Kootukkural team members were circuated Ambedkar notice to all the peoples. The Chief Minister and Social Welfare Minister came officially to respect the Leader Dr. Ambedkar.  The Violence against women and other relevant handbills were submitted to them for their consideration of women development in Puducherry.SAM_0547

The same time Ms. P, Lalidamballe participated the event on released the booklet about Dec.6 by Social Welfare Minister.  She got the book and bought the copies for the benefits of women leaders.  The book was prepared and circulated by the Ambedkarists Movement and the youth members were organized the event.

Women leaders and theatre artists were honored and put garland Dr. Ambedkar and raised the slogans, songs about his caste annihilation for equality, fraternity and liberty with all..

 

RESULTS:

  • Women and youth were partivipated and enjoyed the day to respect the leader and aware about his caste annihilation concept.
  • Dr.Ambedkar notices and VAW campaign materials were distributed to all the politicians and parties to sanitize them the importance of women leadership.
  • Social Minister and other party members were encouraged the women leaders for their participation to respect Dr. Ambedkar statue.

Leaders Meeting

Objectives:

  • To motivate the local women leaders to strengthen their capacity to address the domestic violence issues.
  • Women leaders’ courage to discussed and addressed the drinking habits in that area.
  • To submit petition to the govt. for demanding to close the alcohol shop for the betterment of living conditions of women and children.
  • To reduce the harassment situation faced by women in living in urban, slums and villages.

Welcome note provided by Annal Ambedkar Pengal Paguthariou Iyakkam (AAPPI) President Ms. Daisyrani. She coordinated the event on 5th Dec.  in France Pondicherry night school centre, Oulgaret commune for motivating the women and young men to address about their common issues of women abuses, and the practices of continuous drinking habits.?????????????

ADECOM Network Trustee Ms.Lalidamballe explained that all women have started to struggles for violence against women, in that regional of Oulgaret many Dalit Christians, are facing the problem of domestic violence.  Because their husbands and family members are taking much drinks for many years and the shop is close to their residence. For many years the peoples development did not take in this region mainly for drinking habits of men and they did not go for proper education and employment.

The resource person Ms. Priya Sub-Inspector Reddiyarpalayam said, all women forward to struggles for women and child exploitation. She addressed about the small girl abused by a old person in Oulgaret region.  She mentioned that many issues are coming because the men are exploiting at the time of lonely girls in their homes.  She insisted that the event really give basic information to the parents that how to keep their girl children for their protection.

Mr. Alexis Nepolian SC/ST Christian Coordinate committee member and SLF sports club captain Mr. Joseph Thevazuran were participated in this program. Mr, Alexis pointed out that ADECOM also giving voices for Dalit Christian struggles to get their rights and privileges like others. In this place we all think about to stop the Alcohols shop and we struggled in the past but still we did not succeeded.  This time we will associate with women movement for taking steps to change the environment for living conditions.

The special speeches on the issues were addressed by Dr.Albert samthi, He mentioned about the alternative medicines of acupuncture and other homeopathy medicines are important to maintain the good health for poor women.  He talked about the importance of the alternative medicines to prevent the new deceases attacked to the women.

Human Rights Club Secretary Mr. Raja Rambo, Protection officer of Puducherry Ms.Stella Marie, Mother India Women society Ms. Santhiravathanam, Social Activist Ms. Lalila, women federation were given the felicitation speeches to prevent the women issues legally for the betterment of community development.

RESULTS:

 

  • Women leaders were totally 70 members were benefited and talked about their decisions to close the alcohol shop with the support of Legal authority.
  • Women and youth members were interested to start the campaign against the drinking habits in Puducherry.
  • Some youths gave valuable suggestions that to advertise in big level in front of all the liquor shops that the dangers of drinking and smoking habits how it kills our life slowly.
  • Women members were realized that the drinking habit creates the more problems to the women’s life and destroy their peaceful life.
  • The leaders requested the follow up actions to prevent the violence situation in their locality.
  • The village members were realized the importance to participate at the Gram Sabha meetings for their resolutions to solve their basic demands.

AWARENESS RALLY

  • To increase the knowledge and awareness of domestic violence for the public.
  • Described the brochures,, notices and posters about the domestic violence
  • To make aware and support the women victims of the domestic violence.
  • Campaign to cover the message to the public for the victims’ social, legal support.

ADECOM Network, Puducherry, Maitri National Women Network Union Territory of Legal Services Authorities all together jointly conducted an awareness rally on 2nd of December 2013 inaugurated at Oulgarate Municipality Campus.  Mr. Raja initiated the speech with note of warm welcome. Then Ms. Lalidamballe delivered the key objectives of the rally and 16 days campaign.

This program started with the motto of supporting woman, based on a 16-day continuous preach and advocacy of women violence.  Mrs. Pramila the Heath officer of Mother Theresa Nursing College told that this program started with the concept of relieving women from being affected by the Domestic violence in this society. Then Mr.Gobinathan, the Director of Velangani Matriculation Hr. Sec. School gave felicitation speech.

Dr. Sivavkumar, the Field Publicity Officer presided over the rally. He insisted that this program to create awareness among women and men for their understanding of each other for family life.

The respected District Court Judge Mr. P. Nalathambi hoisted the flag and inaugurated the rally. Then the following leaders Mrs.DaisyRani, State President of Ambethkar Pengal Pagutharivu Iyyakkam (AAPPI), Mrs.K.Thilagavathi, National Awardtee Teacher, Advocate Mr.Seenu .Perumal,were participated and devivered their short sppech to the young girls and boys of 200 adolescents.  Mrs.kasthuri Coordinator of KootuKKural theatre movement gave a note of thanks.

In this rally more than 200 students were participated including students from Annai Theresa Nursing College and Velankani Matriculation higher secondary school. And also Kootukkural artists and volunteers also joined in this rally. The rally began at Olugarat Municipality, Villuppuram-Pondicherry main Road, Pazhavaransavati, Boomiyanpet, Indira Square, Natesan nager, Housing board Quarts and ended at Water over tank at Javagar Nagar. The students distributed the notice to the people of those respective areas. This journey got a good appreciation from the public to aware about the association and women network addressing the domestic issues.

 

RESULTS:

 

  • 200 girls and boys of adolescent groups participated in this programme, and KootuKKural artists and team also joined in this program.
  • The rally created the wider impacts in this location and they came to aware about ADECOM and Maitri National Network for women.
  • This journey created the message of violence against women awareness to all peoples.

DOCUMENT FESTIVAL on VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

OBJECTIVE:

 

  • Violence against wome, what it means and How to create in this society. To explained all women and community through the document movie.
  • Women to protect Violence and learned the methods to approach the legal counseling, protection for their social security.
  • To increase the knowledge and awareness of vulnerable women about women rights and legal rights

 

As the part of Continuous 16 days Awareness campaign regarding Violence against women the documentary film screened in 3 villages on 4th, 5th and 8th of December 2013 at Kariyamanikkam, Pangoor and Koodapakkam respectively. This document film showed about how women affected in dowry system and domestic violence. In these three villages nearly 600 people were spectator of that document film.???????????????????????????????

Umaigalin Thalaivan Film society jointly organized this event with Kootukkural. This programme was supported by Tamizhman night school in charge Mr. Ehzumalai and Mr. Nelamegavannan. In Pangoor social worker Mr. Bharathi and in Koodapakkam kootukural volunteer Mr. Ambedhkuar was supported this programme. The film focused on Violence against women how to create in this society, and how women to solve this kind of problems.

RESULTS:

 

  • People realized about the domestic violence and support women issues to solve legally.
  • Nearly 600 people were spectator and benefited of this film shows.
  • All peoples said very useful massage for all women to prevent the domestic violence in their places.

 

AWARNESS PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN ON THEIR LEGAL RIGHTS:

Objectives:

  • To increase the knowledge and awareness of vulnerable women about human rights and legal rights
  • To motivate the women themselves for their legal rights and social protection from violence situation.
  • To organize the women for the vulnerable women issues to give the complaint to the appropriate agency.
  • The women to known about the legal process and support services when violence will occur.

The first awareness meeting held at Sozahatharam, Sethiathoppu, Cuddalore district organized by Society for Village Education and Development (SVED) coordinated and associated with ADECOM and Maitri National Women Network. The meeting was held on 03rd December 2013. SVED Director Mrs. Amuthamozhli coordinated the women leaders based on the domestic violence against women of this 16 –day’s continuous advocacy campaign. More than 70 women members from around 10 villages participated

In this domestic violence program, Mr.Palanisamy Panchayat President inaugurated and presided over the event.  Mrs.Vasanthanayagi, Mrs.Irudayamary, Mrs.Sunitha the local women leaders were felicitated the event focused on VAW Campaign.    SAM_0401

Mrs. Suda Manirathnam, Panchayat President of Kattumanarkoil recently she got awarded by the Prime Minister for her efficiency of best role model of women Panchayat capabilities in Tamilnadu.  She insisted that more support should be provided to our area women for their economic development.  She struggled a lot for ecological development to ban plastics in her constituency. For this cause more than 10 women joined with President and took part in the election and now all are women in that Panchayat.  She worked as a professor before joining in the election and she is running the school for their children education. She narrated her own experiences to other women for their development through Panchayat village level meetings. All the participants inspired about her experience and they wanted to become like such women leader.

She mentioned that I was selected as a Commune head and honored as a best woman by Tamil Nadu. Then at last, I gained an award for a best social activist in India. This new role made me to achieve more in life. my constituency includes more than 80 Panchayats. She also added that, at present, we are doing our best and organizing our actions to tap Govt. schemes for the development of women and community. She wished that women should act smartly and education is a must for them.

ADECOM’s Director Ms. Lalidamballe said that women must come forward in Panchayat level for taking decision.. Currently, women suffer a lot from sexual harassment, domestic violence. As a woman should involve in the module of overcoming such situations to start from their homes, they are treated as prisoners. Egg, a good diet is provided only to the male child and female child is fed with the white rice alone. A male is never questioned, even what happened to return home at late hours. But if a female happens to return home after 6 pm, she questioned about what reason for great delay. After marriage she faced some dowry harassments from her father-in-law’s home. She mentioned that, in order to stop all of the above, women should be empowered with good knowledge.

She also indicated that everyone should provide a good hand in supporting the women, as she suffers sexual harassments in many places like schools, college, in work places. She suggested that women must visit the Panchayat village awarded by Prime Minsister and the role model village is good example to many other women for taking political decisions for their developments with the support of the Govt. of Tamilnadu.

Mr. Kurinchivalavan invited all the members who presented there and sang a song praising women in this program, Kootukkural artists Mr.Murugan, Mr. Valini, Ms. Manjula Ms. chithradevi , Mr. rajathilagam and Ms. Kasturi were participated and made their performance and songs to create awareness to the village women.

 

The second programme organized on the same day by the local women group members in Kilianur Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Villupuram District on 5th of December 2013. Totally 150 girls, boys were benefited through this VAW campaign along with their teachers, NSS leaders, Panchayat leaders and Social activists..

The welcome note provided by People social service Trustee Moratandi Ms.Mangai in the presences of Head Mistress Ms. Santhi.  The Social activist Ms. Rubavathy presided over the event and delivered the importance VAW campaign for the young girls and boys.  Advocate, Perumal explained the young girls how they faced violence situation in their schools.  Recently the issues happened in Puducherry that the teachers showed the blue films to the girls at the time of special classes in Govt. School.

The parents were showed their protested against the teachers’ aggressive mind set.  Those teachers were suspended after long struggles.  The same situation might be happen in different ways in different places.  The young girls must aware about the situation to protect them from legally when the issue arises,  All the teachers, students, and participants were motivated the information given by the lawyers, and the performance were created the message to the young girls and boys.SAM_0498

At the night 7.00 p.m the programme organized in Mottrandi village, Villupuram district. Panchayat President Ms. Lalida Arumugam inaugurated and gave the special speech for the women for their situations in that village.  She requested the women should come and participate the village grana sabha meetings to take decisions for their employment opportunities and change their life situation.

ADECOM Network Trustee Ms.Lalidamballe told that all women started to struggles for violence against women. The women must participate in the Panchyat level meetings to resolve their needs for their betterment of life. The village women were upset about their own situation because nobody showed interest for their development activities.  The KootutKKural artists were played their performance to motivate the women for their confidence level to change their attitude and approaches for developing their participation.

Dr. Ezumalai, Advocate Mr.ramathass, Organizer Ms.Mangai, Ms. Rubavathey and Mr.Saravanan, Mr. Chandrasekar were delivered their speeches for the importance of the message about the VAW campaign, Youths were raised the questions that how to approach the members for their immediate issues.  All the details were given by the members and they were motivated for addressing their own issues and to participate in the Gram saba meeting in Jan. 2014 at the time of Republic day.

RESULTS:

  • 50 women benefited and participated in each  programme
  • Women’s and students attended this programme created more knowledge and awareness about women’s Rights and violence against women.
  • All people satisfied and motivated the role model of panchayat president speech and her willingness to distribute Dr.Ambedkar photo along with tree in next coming event.
  • This programme created violence against women awareness to the village women and their understanding to participate in public for their good education, employment and political participation.
  • Women were discussed and took the decision to start the women to ban the liquor shop in that village with the support of Panchayat President.
