Women from oppressed communities face a wide range of social problems. Many of these, such as drug and alcohol dependency, are linked to domestic and other forms of violence.
However, women who experience these problems lack support outside of their families and homes. We provide counselling services to women in their communities, to help them to recover from violent incidents and to prevent social problems from recurring. Our team members visit women requiring support in safe places in their communities, such as community centres. They connect women with existing services, such Protection Officers, counsellors and drug and alcohol rehabilitation officers, and provide advice on solving their problems.
